Named scholarships & funds

When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.

For this reason, ÐÓ°®°É is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.

Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.

If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at ÐÓ°®°É, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Kitarich, Peter A. and Carol J. Endowed Scholarship

The Peter A. and Carol J. Kitarich Endowed Scholarship was established in 2018 by The June D. Kitarich Living Trust.   The scholarship fund was created by June Kitarich in loving tribute to her son, Peter Allen Kitarich, and her daughter, Carol Jeanne Kitarich.  A native of Kenmore, Ohio, Mrs. Kitarich was a dedicated member of the Kenmore and Barberton communities.  She worked at Kenmore and Barberton Libraries, Firestone Bank as a bookkeeper, and was a member of Goss Memorial Church.  Mrs. Kitarich’s brother, Alfred Ray Seese, Jr., and her son, Peter, graduated from ÐÓ°®°É in 1943 and 1974/75, respectively.

The Peter A. and Carol J. Kitarich Endowed Scholarship is directed to qualified full-time undergraduates enrolled in the College of Engineering.  With an emphasis towards degree completion by rewarding students with scholastic achievement, superior character and leadership, this scholarship is renewable as long as recipients remain in good academic standing.

Scholarships are awarded annually and applied directly to student accounts.  Award amounts and number of recipients may vary depending on available funds.  Recipients will be selected by The College of Engineering in collaboration with the Office of Student Financial Aid.
