Named scholarships & funds
When it comes to earning a college degree, the greatest obstacle can be funding.
For this reason, ÐÓ°®°É is pleased for the opportunity each year to assist talented, deserving students achieve their dreams, thanks to more than 1,300 named scholarships established through the kindness and generosity of thousands of UA alumni and friends, corporations, and foundations.
Scholarships truly are the best way to ensure that today’s students persist to graduation. Scholarships allow students to enroll full time and remain focused on their studies; they also reduce drop-out rates, decrease the stress of student loans, and shorten the road to graduation.
If you are interested in making a significant contribution to student success, please consider a gift to scholarships. You may also establish a named scholarship at ÐÓ°®°É, which can be created to honor a living person, in memory of a loved one, or to contribute to the growth of an area of study.

Akron Branch AAUW Scholarship
The Akron Branch American Association of University Women Scholarship was established in December 2005 to provide financial assistance to deserving women enrolled as full-time students at ÐÓ°®°É. AAUW was founded in 1881 as a catalyst for change, and it continues to support projects that shape the future for women and girls. The Akron Branch was established in December 1926 through the leadership of Edith Grace Cray, a 1923 graduate of ÐÓ°®°É. The mission of AAUW today is to promote equity for all women and girls, lifelong education, and positive societal change. This scholarship has been established to help women reach their academic goals in either undergraduate or graduate programs. Recipients will be selected by the AAUW Scholarship Committee in coordination with ÐÓ°®°É’s Office of Student Financial Assistance.
